Last week I wrote a blog post on what about ‘When God says No‘, and this week I wanted to write on what the Holy Spirit revealed to me about when God says “Yes” or when God says “Go”. It means it is time. I think the same fear and anxieties can come as when God says “No”. When God opens a new door, here are some tips for walking through that door with boldness and confidence.
Scriptural Focus:
Exodus Chapter 3 and 4 – When you have the time, read and meditate on these scriptures. For context the summary of this scriptures is, God appeared to Moses via the burning bush, asked him to go back to Egypt to free the Hebrews from slavery, and lead them to the Promise Land. Moses had a speech impediment and was questioning God’s choice to send Him to reason with Pharaoh, but God reminded Moses of who He was and said to Moses that He would be with Moses always.
- God is with you
The Bible says He will never leave you and He commands us to be strong and courageous (Deuteronomy 31:6). Sometimes where God is leading you may be scary or intimidating, and sometimes you will feel as though you are not qualified, but you can do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13) and…
- God has prepared the way for you
Where God is sending you, whether it be a new job opportunity, ministry or relationship, God has prepared the way.
- “The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” – Deuteronomy 31:8
- ‘The LORD your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf… – Deuteronomy 1:30
- For the LORD will go before you, And the God of Israel will be your rear guard. – Isaiah 52:12
- I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. – Isaiah 45:2
- Obedience is better than sacrifice
When God says it’s time to move, it is better to do exactly what He says than to compromise with God by giving up something (1 Samuel 15:22). We are following in the example of Jesus who was obedient to God at every turn, even unto death.
- Your “yes” or open door is for the benefit of someone else
You are blessed to be a blessing. Even if it does not make sense, maybe God has called you to a new job to influence the culture there, or maybe it is for one person who God will ask you to minister to. Our purpose is to glorify God and we are the extension of God’s loving arms on Earth. We are required to serve and love people. God gave Moses this mission, which saved millions from slavery. Wherever Jesus went, He saved, healed and delivered people. As Christians every open door will bless you in some way, but also it will bless someone else and that is part of your purpose here on Earth.
In conclusion, if you are called according to God’s purpose, it is important to remember that all things are working together for your good (Romans 8:28). So when God says yes, or tells you to go somewhere new, or move from where you are; trust God. Lastly, it takes faith. Stepping into new things can be difficult whether it is something you want and have prayed for, or something that God has called you to unexpectedly. If your faith is low, you can ask God for faith and boldness to do exactly what He has asked. Remember, without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
I hope this blog blessed you, I am excited for you to step into your open door(s) and walk in your new thing.
Love Dom xx
