Perfect, Worthy, Deserving – Just As You Are

Hello and welcome back to the blog, if you’ve stumbled on this for the first time or are returning I want to say thank you. A quick but necessary blog today…

I wanted to remind you that God is a God of second chances and that He loves you just as you are, flaws and all. I think the reason why sometimes people do not come to God is because they think they need to get fixed up first. It is quite the opposite. 1 John 1:7 says that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. That tells me that we cannot do it ourselves, we need God to save us.

Here’s the thing, we live in human bodies born in sin (Psalm 51:5), every single one us. Relying on our human strength to get to a position to serve God and be saved is impossible. In order to change we need Jesus, by dying on the cross Jesus paid a debt for us that we could not pay ourselves.

The Bible says that we sin and fall short everyday (Romans 3:23) but it also says His mercies are new each morning.

Lamentations 3:22 – 23

The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

God wants you to run to Him and not away from Him when you mess up. Cliche but… God loves you with unconditional love. Shame is not from or of God, that comes from the enemy.

In Jesus’ ministry on earth, He spent time with sinners i.e. folk like you and I who keep messing up living a lifestyle contrary to the will of God.  So… wherever you are in life and whatever lifestyle you currently live, don’t run from God, run to Him because He loves you just as you are.

Only the transforming power of God can turn a man who persecuted Christians to one of the greatest men of faith to walk the planet, and also author of most of the New Testament section of the Bible. Never forget Paul was just a man who said yes to God.

(If you want to) It’s your turn.

Love,
