Sometimes we create to-do lists in our minds that easily overwhelm us. If you are anything like me, as soon as I get to thinking about one thing, my mind runs off to everything else I need to do and have not done and this ranges from house work, to my Red Bull job, to music. We all have goals for every area of our life, but we have to prioritise. There are only a certain amount of hours in the day and planning my each day, usually the night before, really helps me to (i) not get overwhelmed and (ii) actually achieve some stuff.
I currently use a daily planner from Urban Outfitters that looks like this.
There are sooo many daily planners out there, the one I have might not fit your needs, but I would recommend getting one. Here’s how daily planning could help you:
- You can break down your tasks in to things that are more digestible
This gives you peace of mind!
- You have a clear direction for your day
It shows you how much time you actually have so you can be more realistic with setting your tasks, this gives you confidence going into your day.
- You feel more accomplished
Because you were actually realistic with your tasks, you actually feel good because you hit the target. Ticking off your to do list feels so good. Instead of procrastinating and not knowing how to tackle big tasks, daily planning allows you break things down and then ultimately, you achieve your goals be it long term or short term.
Daily planning does not have to be a huge task, it could just be 5 minutes where you think about and then bullet point things you wish to get done for the next day. These days, time literally runs away like a train, let’s win but planning our time effectively.
Comment below any tips you have!
