Holding On to Your Faith ‘In the Middle’

This week I wanted to write a blog post just to encourage you to keep going, because it occurred to me that the hardest time to have faith is right in the middle. The excitement of starting has worn off and you are now walking in the thing you have been longing for, whether it is starting a family, starting a business, getting a new job or you are in the middle of your fitness journey… the middle is challenging. The middle is where you need your faith more than ever, because going back is not an option. You will win and see your vision come fully to pass, because God is faithful to complete the work He started in you (Philippians 1:6).

The key message that I want to leave with you today is that Jesus is moved by your faith. I have picked out a few scenarios in the Bible which highlight this.

One.

A woman who wanted to be healed so desperately, that she had faith that just touching the hem of Jesus’ garment would heal her, and touch the hem of His garment she did.

Matthew 9:22 – ‘Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” He said, “Your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.’

Two.

Here, two blind men followed after Jesus for healing and they cried out to Him. Jesus simply asked do you believe I can heal you? They said ‘Yes’ and they were healed. Jesus said…

Matthew 9:29 – “According to your faith let it be done to you”.

Three.

A woman who was not a Jew, we do not know her religion, but in those days folks who were not Jews were known as Gentiles, cried out to Jesus for her daughter to be healed.

Matthew 15:28 – ‘Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.’

Here is the thing with faith, when you encounter challenges, you are drained and do not see the light at the end of the tunnel. Whilst you are in the middle… you only need faith the size of a mustard seed and you will be able to move mountains (Matthew 17:20). Conversely, unbelief and a lack of faith stops miracles. We see also in Matthew 17:20, the disciples were unable to cast out a demon because they did not believe.

What mountains do you need to speak to? Mustard seed faith is enough. Keep going… ‘faith it till you make it’.

I will leave you with this, something that Moses said in the film Prince of Egypt (I would love to think He said this in real life LOL):

‘Yes, Aaron, it’s true. Pharaoh has the power. He can take away your food, your home, your freedom. He can take away your sons and daughters. With one word, Pharaoh can take away your very lives. But there is one thing he cannot take away from you: your faith. Believe, for we will see God’s wonders.

Have an amazing week.

Love,

Dom
