Hi family, welcome back to the blog, thank you for being here. Taking a momentary pause from the ‘Addressing jealousy’ blog series (catch up on part one and part two… part three and final is loading). But I just want to be obedient to God here, as God is currently dealing with me when it comes to discipline, a healthy diet and consistency. He impressed on my heart to write and share a prayer checklist, if you will, to kick start your day everyday.
I already suspect that as I learn more, study more and God reveals to me more, there will be tweaks and additions to this checklist. Importantly, this is all based on scriptural doctrine and a secret weapon we should use more often – praying the scriptures.
The Goal of this checklist is firstly, to help you grow your spirit man so that you can face the challenges of each day. The fight we fight is spiritual after all (Ephesians 6:12), in the same way that you go to the gym to make your physical body strong, there are practices we need to do to make our spirit man strong. Second, to ensure you are not ignorant to Satan’s devices/schemes/intentions (2 Corinthians 2:11). Satan would have it so that you do not pray and seek God because when you do, you get to know Satan’s playbook – which by the way is boring and has not changed. Thirdly, this checklist aims to secure not only your victory, but victory for your friends and family and your environment. We are called to be a light in darkness and the batteries to our light is Jesus, so we have to seek him, we have to understand what to pray. Lastly, to secure chronic disappointment to the enemy’s camp concerning you and those you stand in the gap for.
So without further or do… let’s get into it. Please screenshot this or type/write it up in your notes. What I do is put this in my diary. Everyday, 7am (or whatever time suits you) – I get this alert:
Good Morning Holy Spirit
- Thank you for waking me up this morning
- Lord I worship you this morning and I give you all the glory
- God, I am seeking you first because I know that all things I want and need you add afterwards
- I cancel every plan that the enemy has set for me (and [insert other people]) today. No weapon against us will ever prosper
- I declare that I am more than a conqueror, I am the head and not the tail, I am above and not beneath
- Order my steps today Lord
- Lord, I pray for Godly wisdom, revelation and understanding
- I declare that I have a spirit of love, power and a sound mind
- I put on the whole armour – the breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit
- In addition to that Lord, robe me with your peace
- Give me the desire to do your will today
- Forgive me Lord of all my sins, known and unknown, omission and commission – Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me
- Lord I pray that your glory goes ahead of me today
- Father, I ask that you would permit my angel to go ahead of me and secure me the best possible outcome for today (note – you can get real specific here. Our guardian Angels and Angels are there to help us ask them to eg inspire you to Godly thoughts, go to your office, go ahead of you in that important meeting. They are there to help you – use them)
- Father I pray for [insert name(s)] (praying for others is integral to our life as Christians – pray for your colleagues, family, friends, the people on your commute)
Bonus
- If there is anything within me that you hate, remove it
- Pray in tongues as often as you can. And if you do not have your heavenly language yet, ask the Holy Spirit to come in and fill you.
Ensure that you take a moment to stop and listen. God speaks, but pause for a couple of minutes, meditate and say – speak Lord your servant is listening.
Your life will transform. You will start to see things happen in your day that have never happened before and it will be as a consequence of your prayers and time with God. No longer will we be spiritually deficient. Let’s grab the abundant life that our Lord and Saviour paid for.
