There are so many life factors that can impact your self worth, perceptions from social media, failures at work or in your business, losing money, hurts stemming from relationships etc… There are so many. Here are some things that I have been implementing this week.
Get used to failing
No one is perfect and it is our failures that permit us to learn. The quicker you can pick yourself from your failures, the better. Try not to let your failures impact your self-esteem because everyone falls and fails at something(s) at some point; we are human after all. So, show yourself some compassion for your humanity and embrace each failure as an opportunity to learn and grow, rather than allowing that failure to take a shot at your self-esteem.
Call on your loved ones for support
The people in your circle are your biggest fans, I would encourage you to tell at least one trusted person about how you are feeling. When you cannot big up yourself it is your loved ones who play a vital role in helping restore your self-esteem. I was able to sit down with a couple of my best friends and they really lifted me up. When you are feeling low, do not isolate yourself. Surround yourself with good people, talk about how you are feeling and allow your people to speak life into you and big you up.
Selfcare
Do something that makes you feel good! A bath with beautiful aromatherapy oils, the gym, drawing, playing or listening to music – whatever it is, do something that would make you feel good. You can starve low-self esteem and the negativity it brings with a sense of peace, do activities that release serotonin and put you in a happy mood.
Stay as active as you can – push through!
Try and stick to your schedule and the things you said you were going to do. Whether you are studying and stuck on that essay, you are a new business owner writing up a business plan, you are a musician and you have deadlines for your projects, or you are trying to grow your social media and you have committed to make content, push through and do it; future you will thank you. When you still manage to get things done, despite how you are feeling, it is a testament to the fact that low self-esteem is in fact false evidence appearing real, and that better yet you can overcome it one step at a time.
Get dressed up and remind yourself that you are a bad as heck
Ladies, get yo hair done, nails done, do some make up (if that is your vibe) and put on some clothes that make you feel great. Fellas likewise, get your best fit, your cologne and hair cut or fresh shave. There is something special about putting your best foot forward from an aesthetic point of view. You could take yourself out, go on a walk or just chill. The point here is to just make yourself feel good on the outside. Even if your low-self esteem does not come from external factors, when you look good on the outside it makes you feel good on the inside.
The moral of the story, do not stay in low-self esteem. It has devastating effects on your future because it prohibits your movement. Think of low self-esteem as an attack on your destiny. You have great things to achieve, do not allow low self-esteem to get in your way.
I have put some songs that help get me through below, and you can have access to my ‘Future Soul Vibes’ playlist which is all round good vibes.
